A Yemeni NGO has called on the United Nations to do something to stop the Houthi torture of journalists in the jails the militia run in north Yemen.
In a seminar held in Marib on Sunday, the chief of the National Organization for Yemeni Media Personnel, Yusuf Hazeb, said the United Nations and other international organizations to look into the case of jailed Yemeni journalists from a humanitarian perspective and to put an end to the Houthi torture and other abuses of journalists.
After the coup of 2014, the Iran-backed militia rounded up several journalists to jails and forced others to flee for safety within and outside of the country.
