The Yemeni Alliance for Monitoring Human Rights Violations in Yemen or Rasd Alliance has said Houthicoupist militia shoulders direct responsibility on killing 129 Yemeni women and injuring 122 others by shelling and landmines, as well as kidnapping 23 women monitored by the alliance in the period from January- June 2018.
In a release issued by the alliance on Sunday marking the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on the 25th of November every year, the alliance revealed what it described the most atrocities against women, including distortion, verbal and physical harassment, depriving her from education and forcing her on early marriage.
The alliance expressed regret on the catastrophic situations of Yemeni woman over the war on Yemen followed the Houthi coup against the state on September 2014.
The release pointed out that women face different forms of violence under the absence of the state institutions and social protection and awareness and bear different forms of woes resulted from armed conflicts.
Rasd Alliance follows up anxiously aggressions against mothers of kidnapped people, female students of Sana'a University and female protestors, as well as incitement campaigns against female activists, civil society woman and workers in humanitarian and relief field who have been subjected to systematic campaigns targeting their honor and dignity, said the alliance.
The alliance expressed its denounce to any aggression against woman or violating her rights as stark violations to human rights, calling for respecting international accords and agreements eliminating all forms of violence against woman.
It called all state institutions, right institutions and political parties to confirm woman's political, social and economic rights and granting her no less than 30 percent of decision making posts.
