WFP: Preparations made to deal with emergencies in Socotra due to tropical gale

World Food Program (WFP) has confirmed full preparedness and precaution measures to offer relief and humanitarian aid to areas which are likely to suffer in case that a tropical storm (Laban) hit the two provinces of Socotra and Al-Maharah.

Acting Representative of WFP in Yemen Ali Qareishi informed Minister of Local Administration, Chairman of Supreme Relief Committee Abdulraqeeb Fatha that 750 immediate response bags have been prepared in Mukala to provide emergency aids.

Moreover 1.100 metric tons of wheat are available in Socotra province will be offered to the people in case of emergencies as a result of the tropical gale. Foodstuffs are being prepared in Hudramout province, according to Qareishi.
