RIYADH-SABA
The Arab Coalition has denounced the falsifications contained in the report of the High Commissioner for Human Rights issued in August 28, 2018 regarding the status of human rights in Yemen.
In a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency, the Coalition denounced the Higher Commissioner's claims and conclusions reached by the Eminent Experts team regarding the so-called human rights violations in Yemen.
"The Coalition has been keen on cooperating transparently and openly with the Experts team since the team's formation by the Higher Commissioner in December 2017," read the statement.
But the High Commissioner's report which drew information from the Experts contained several falsifications including the blame of the Coalition in obstructing humanitarian access to civilians in Yemen.
The Coalition emphasized its constant cooperation with the UN and aid agencies to ensure the humanitarian aid access to civilians.
The Coalition expressed its surprise at the report's ignorance of the big role that the Coalition states have been playing in offering and facilitating a huge humanitarian relief aid in Yemen, the last of which was the generous $1,180 million Saudi, Emirati and Kuwaiti donation to Yemn through the UN organizations operating in Yemen.
The statement said the High Commissioner's report was not objective in handling the whole conflict matter, it blamed the conflict on the Coalition ignoring the real causes of the conflict; the coup of the Iran aligned Houthi militia against the Yemeni government.
