Al-Kamal emphasizes promoting women role in conflict and peace times

Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Ebtihaj Al-Kamal stressed the importance of enhancing the role of women in times of conflict and peace and in any negotiations,a crucial contribution to building peace and in line with the national plan for women protection.

Addressing the closing of a workshopthe Social Affairs Ministry held in cooperation with the German Friedrich-Ebert in Aden on the formulation of women protection plan, Al-Kamal said the workshop was held in line with the UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on women adopted by the Arab League in 2013.

She noted that Yemeni women have been exposed in recent periods to different types of violations due to armed conflicts.

She stressed the importance of activating the national women protection plan, which is based on establishing a participatory approach within government institutions, civil society and women's organizations, and translating the plan on the ground to protect women from violations.
