Governor of MahraRajehba-Kurait and the Secretary General of the Local Council Salem Nimro launched on Wednesday distribution of food assistances provided by Omani Charitable Agency to people of Mahra and displaced people here.
Up to 21 thousand families will benefit from food aid carried from Oman by 84 trucks loaded with flour, cooking oil, rice, tea, sugar, dates and café.
The governor praised the aid support provided by Oman to the province in relief, humanitarian and social fields, confirming deepness of the social ties linking the two neighboring provinces;Mahra and Zufar.
These assistances are considered annual tradition provided by Omani agency every Ramadan in the framework of social integration and brotherly cooperation, said Nimro.
For his part, the Head of the Omani agency SaeedSaeedan pointed out that the aid have been directed by Sultan of Oman Qabus bin-Saeed to Yemeni people.
