The Royal Saudi Air Defense Forces on Sunday intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis fromSaadah in north Yemen in the direction of civilian populated areas in the Saudi city of Najran, said the spokesman for the Saudi-led Arab Coalition supporting Yemen’s government.
In a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency, Col. Turki Al-Maliki said:, "The missile was deliberately fired to target residential areas, a hostile act by the Iran-backed rebel militia and a proof of the continued involvement of the Iranian regime in supporting the militia with quality capabilities."
He said that Iran's arming of the rebels is a clear defiance of the UN resolution no. 2216 and resolution no. 2231 and a violation of the International Humanitarian Law.
