Central Bank governor discusses cooperation with Egyptian counterpart

The Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY), Dr. Mohammed Mansour Zammam discussed today with the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Tarek Hassan Amer,cooperation between the two sides regarding the control of banks.
The talks came over the Egyptian bank's experience in trainingsand the automatic control mechanisms it implements which may inspire the Yemeni bank to implement similar programs or the exact same programs.
They addressed the possibility of Egyptian help to reconsider and re-design the monetary policy of the Central Bank of Yemen to fit with the Yemeni context and how to learn from the successful Egyptian experience in financial reform.
They also came over the need for Yemen to consider the Egyptian experience of issuing bonds in foreign currencies.
