Wethaq Foundation condemns Houthi fresh killing of Taiz children

The Wethaq Foundation for Civil Orientation has condemned theHouthi-Saleh rebel militias shelling that killed five children and injured three others in a western Taiz village on Thursday.

In a statement, Wethaq said that "the militias' attacks with mortar and Howtzer rounds on densely populated cities is a crime against humanity and qualify to be labeled as war crimes as per the rules of the International Humanitarian Law."

"The militias' indiscriminate shelling has left thousands of innocent people dead and injured tens of thousands others (in Yemen), the last of which was Thursday's genocide that killed five children and injured three others when shells landed on a house in a neighborhood of Onsowa in western Taiz," said the statement.

The statement added that these war crimes require that their perpetrators be prosecuted locally and internationally.
