The Minister of Youths and Sports Nayef al-Bakri conferred today, Thursday, with the British Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Abda Sharif over bilateral relations and cooperation.

Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid Bin-Dagher chaired Monday a meeting of High Committee tasked with handling matters concerned Yemeni students abroad.
The Prime Minister said:" We wouldn't abandon our students abroad, we had already paid the students due payments of the third and fourth quarters of last year and first and second quarters of this year. We also ordered to complete needed procedures to pay those students whose complaints proved to be sounded regarding their due payments that were held back earlier.
The committee has approved suspending dispatching students abroad for a couple of years starting from 2017-2018. However, this decision shall not be applied to the distinguished students of Secondary schooling who gained First Grades in the final exams.
The committee has also approved to get procedures completed about paying students abroad due payments of the second quarter according to lists submitted by Ministry of Higher Education.
The committee has decided that Higher Education and Scientific Research Ministry in Aden is the exclusively authorized organization to dispatch students abroad and approve internal scholarships.
No dispatching decisions or lists of financial support shall be approved unless they were ratified by the ministerial committee in charge, and issued by the Minster of Higher Education. Ministry of Finance shall never consider any financial demands by any other authority, the committee decided.
