The Kuwaiti Fund for Arab Economic Development signed Thursday a Grant Agreement with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worth $1.2 million to contribute to the rehabilitation and maintenance of homes for displaced persons in Yemen.

Yemen MPs raise humanitarian issues with IPU President

The Vice Speaker of the Parliament Mohammed Ashaddadi and MP Sultan al-Otwani have raised Yemen's humanitarian issues with the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Saber Chawdhury and the IPU's first advisor Mokhtar Omar in Geneva.
They discussed the role of Yemen's parliament as an oversight body that assists the government deliver food and medical aid to people across Yemen, especially the cities under the Saleh-Houthi militias siege: Taiz and Beidha.
The meeting also addressed the possible vistas of cooperation between Yemen's parliament and IPU; the latter's provision of technical and logistic support to rebuild the former and organizing an IPU-sponsored training for Yemeni MPs in the new parliament HQ in the temporary capital, Aden.
