Foreign Minister Discusses With South African Ambassador Bilateral Relations

RIYADH - SABA
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Afrah al-Zouba conferred today, Sunday, with the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to the Republic of Yemen Mogobo David Mogabi over bilateral relations and cooperation.

Ambassador Mogabi conveyed the greetings of the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of the Republic of South Africa, Ronald Lamola, to Minister al-Zouba, and renewed the invitation for her to visit South Africa.

The two sides discussed finalizing the arrangements for signing the document that organizes the mechanism for political consultations between the two countries, which contributes to regular consultations and coordination, enhancing cooperation at the United Nations and international forums and expanding areas of political and economic cooperation.

Al-Zouba expressed appreciation for the positions of the Republic of South Africa in support of Yemen, emphasizing the deep historical relations between the two countries and the importance of building on them in a way that serves their shared interests.

She also highly praised the principled stance of the Republic of South Africa on the Palestinian issue and its international efforts to defend the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

These positions are greatly valued by the Yemeni leadership, government and people, al-Zouba remarked.

The Ambassador of South Africa reaffirmed his country's support for Yemen's sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, security and stability.

He stated that South Africa is interested in developing bilateral relations and completing the frameworks that organize them.
