Minister of State and Aden Governor Abdulrahman Sheikh discussed on Sunday with the Economic Adviser at the Office of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Yemen, Dirk Jan Oeverzicht, efforts to enhance economic stability, improve the investment environment and strengthen cooperation during the coming period.
Governor Sheikh outlined local authority efforts to promote economic reforms, develop revenues and strengthen administrative governance to improve institutional performance and public services.
He highlighted Aden's strategic position as an economic and commercial hub and a vital port, noting ongoing plans to stimulate economic activity, improve infrastructure, attract investment and enhance public revenues.
For his part, the UN official affirmed the Special Envoy's Office's interest in following economic developments in Aden and supporting efforts aimed at promoting economic stability and improving living conditions.
