Yemen's Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Amin Noman discussed Wednesday with the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China to Yemen, Shao Weng steps toward renewing the bilateral Cultural Exchange Agreement signed in 2013 and updating its provisions in line with the ministry's new strategic vision.

The meeting also explored prospects for activating twinning arrangements and direct partnerships between Yemeni public universities and leading Chinese universities, as well as launching joint research programs in renewable energy, natural resource exploration, water scarcity mitigation, desertification, and the sustainable management of coastal environments through the application of Chinese biotechnology.

Both sides further discussed increasing the number of cultural exchange scholarships offered to Yemen to help address the gap in overseas academic opportunities resulting from the country's exceptional circumstances.

They also considered expanding Chinese language instruction at Yemeni universities and organizing reciprocal cultural events aimed at promoting the rich history and civilizations of both countries while strengthening bilateral ties between the two friendly peoples.
