Al-Muharrami Reviews Social Protection Priorities with Labor Minister

Presidential Leadership Council Member Abdulrahman al-Muharrami on Tuesday discussed social protection priorities and labor market reforms with Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Mukhtar al-Yafaei.

The meeting reviewed the ministry's performance, challenges facing its programs, and efforts to strengthen services for vulnerable groups amid Yemen's ongoing humanitarian and economic hardships.

Al-Yafaei briefed al-Muharrami on the ministry's plans to enhance social welfare and protection programs, improve labor market regulation, and expand support for low-income and at-risk communities.

Al-Muharrami stressed the importance of strengthening the country's social protection system and improving the efficiency of government services to better address citizens' needs. He underscored the ministry's role in mitigating the impact of current challenges on vulnerable households and promoting social stability.

The PLC member also called for stronger coordination among relevant institutions and more effective monitoring mechanisms to improve program delivery and ensure measurable outcomes.

He reaffirmed his support for the ministry's efforts and commitment to helping overcome obstacles that could hinder its ability to carry out its national and humanitarian responsibilities.
