Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan discussed Sunday in the temporary capital Aden with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Yemen Thomas Schneider, the development and humanitarian interventions funded by the German government in several priority sectors in Taiz Governorate, particularly water, agriculture and other service and development sectors.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the National Conference for Partnership and Integration between Local Authorities and Central Authorities in Aden.

Governor Shamsan highlighted the pivotal role played by the German government in supporting development efforts in the governorate through its contribution to the implementation of the economic and social development plan and the funding of a number of projects through its implementing partners in the coastal districts and Taiz city.

He pointed out the importance of the local governance project implemented by the Berghof Foundation in partnership with the Political Forum, praising its recent initiative to fund the launch of an electronic portal for development and humanitarian interventions in partnership with the Governorate’s Office of Planning and International Cooperation.

He noted that the portal would contribute to enhancing transparency, preventing duplication, and facilitating access to information related to various projects and interventions.

He stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen development interventions in a way that meets citizens’ needs and contributes to supporting development and stability efforts in the governorate.
