CAIRO – SABA
The Republic of Yemen has participated in the proceedings of the Fourth Food Systems Transformation Meeting with a delegation headed by the Chargé d’Affaires of the Permanent Delegation to the League of Arab States Ambassador Dr. Ali Mousa.

This comes within the framework of following up on the outcomes of the United Nations Food Systems Summit and supporting Arab efforts aimed at achieving food security and enhancing sustainable development in the Arab region.

Over two days, the meeting discussed sustainable development goals through an integrated approach to food systems, supporting the exchange of expertise, strengthening frameworks for cooperation and partnerships with regional and international organizations, stimulating investments, and linking national priorities with available financing opportunities.

The meeting also addressed the repercussions of climate change, geopolitical conflicts, and supply chain disruptions on food security in the Arab region, as well as the impact of rising energy and fertilizer prices, and transportation and trade challenges on food systems.

Ambassador Mousa delivered a presentation on the efforts made to transition toward an integrated food systems approach that links humanitarian relief with sustainable development and addresses the challenges facing food security, in line with international standards.

He also called for launching new initiatives and partnerships focused on financing and innovation.
