[30/04/2026 01:11]
TAIZ - SABA
The European Union Ambassador to Yemen, Gabriel Munuera Viñals, said Taiz reflects a rare mix of cultural and political diversity, describing it as one of Yemen’s most vibrant and inclusive governorates.

Speaking at a press conference in Taiz, he said the province is marked by a strong culture of dialogue and a noticeable shift toward peace, recovery, and development.

The ambassador reviewed the outcomes of his visit, which included meetings with local authorities, political parties, district officials, civil society groups, local communities, and displaced people.

He reaffirmed the European Union’s support for development efforts in Taiz through several projects, including the “SIERY” and “EARLY” programs focused on early recovery.

He said the EU is rolling out a range of initiatives aimed at supporting economic recovery and advancing sustainable development, noting that these efforts go hand in hand with broader peace efforts, which he described as key to addressing the challenges facing Taiz and Yemen more broadly.
