The Deputy Governor of Marib governorate Dr. Abd-Rabbo Miftah laid today, Sunday, the foundation stone for water project aimed to improve access to safe water services for internally displaced persons (IDP)and the host community in al-Madina District.

The project's total cost is $25.2 million, funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center and to be carried out by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

The project includes three water projects: the expansion of the al-Suwaida water project north of the city, the expansion of the water project in the Tenth Sector at al-Jufainah Camp for IDPs south of the city and the rehabilitation of the water project in Bin Aboud neighborhood and surrounding districts east of the city.

The Deputy Governor greatly valued the Saudi humanitarian and developmental support, describing the project as very important and helpful to alleviate the suffering of the IDPs and the host community.
