The Minister of State for Women’s Affairs Dr. Ahd Jaasous discussed Monday via video conference with French Ambassador to Yemen Catherine Corm-Kammoun ways to enhance joint cooperation to support Yemeni women’s issues, empower them and strengthen their role in development pathways.
The meeting addressed mechanisms for coordination and cooperation between the two sides in a way that contributes to supporting women’s empowerment programs and enhancing their active participation in achieving peace, security and sustainable development.
Minister Jaasous praised France’s support for women’s issues and empowerment at various levels, stressing the importance of expanding areas of partnership and cooperation in a way that serves Yemeni women and helps strengthen their presence across different sectors.
She noted that achieving sustainable peace requires the active participation of women in reconstruction, development, and decision-making processes.
For her part, the French Ambassador reaffirmed her country’s support for peace efforts in Yemen and for the participation of Yemeni women in various fields in a way that enhances their role in building peace and achieving development.
