President al-Alimi: Dealing with Houthis as Authority of Fait Accompli Means Legitimizing Divine Right, Racism, Weapons Outside State
His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) stated that any approach to put an end of the war in Yemen will never be successful, unless it deals with the Houthi militias as part of an Iranian cross-border scheme, and not as a local political party, warning that reducing any crisis of this kind to truces and arrangements for a ceasefire will lead to temporary risk management rather than building sustainable peace.

Yemeni Leadership Condemns Attempts to Disrupt State Institutions and Vows to Maintain Order
[20/02/2026 06:16]
ADEN-SABA
A senior official in the Presidential Leadership Council has condemned recent attempts to disrupt state institutions in Aden, describing them as "acts of incitement" and "armed mobilization" by elements outside the law.

The statement came after violent clashes in Aden resulted in casualties, just as the new government began outlining its priorities to improve services and living conditions in liberated areas.

The official emphasized that security forces had exercised maximum restraint in dealing with the unrest, and that those responsible for inciting and financing the violence would be held accountable.

The statement also warned against any attempts to undermine state institutions or use protests as a means to achieve illegitimate political goals, saying such actions would be met with firmness.

The government sees the timing of the unrest as suspicious, coinciding with improvements in services and preparations for a southern conference sponsored by Saudi Arabia.

The source said certain regional forces are seeking to create chaos and undermine national unity against the Houthi threat.

It called on citizens to cooperate with security forces and reject calls for chaos from elements backed by external parties.
