The Ministry of Endowments and Guidance announced that Wednesday, February 18, 2026, will mark the first day of the holy month of Ramadan, following the confirmed sighting of the crescent moon.
In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), the ministry said the committee tasked with moon sighting—comprising astronomers, judges, and religious scholars—verified the sighting of the Ramadan crescent on Tuesday evening.
On the occasion of the holy month, the ministry extended its congratulations to the Yemeni people at home and abroad, to the political leadership represented by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad Mohammed al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, and members of the Council, as well as to members of the armed forces, security services, and all state institutions.
