ADEN-SABA
The Ministry of Legal Affairs and Human Rights expressed its condemnation of the issuance of a forged and fabricated statement attributed to it dated December 29, 2025, for misleading purposes, which contains allegations of no human rights violations in the governorates of Hadramout and al-Mahra.
Minister of Legal Affairs and Human Rights Ahmed Arman said in a press statement, learned by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that the alleged statement was issued without consulting the concerned minister, without going through the approved legal channels, and without relying on field reports or active monitoring and documentation mechanisms.
He made it clear that if the Ministry did not receive official complaints, it does not mean there are no violations, in light of known obstacles related to victims' access, fear of reporting and security restrictions, which necessitates a responsible and professional approach to reports from human rights organizations and media, rather than attacking or preemptively discrediting them.
The Minister confirmed that the Ministry will take the necessary measures to ensure that its name is not dragged into statements or positions that are unprofessional or contradict the essence of its human rights mandate, reiterating its full commitment to monitor and document all violations in all Yemeni governorates without exception, in cooperation with victims and national and international human rights organizations, in a way that serves the truth and justice and preserves social peace.
