The Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fishery Wealth Salem al-Soqatri met Monday with the team of the Silah Foundation for Development, headed by the Foundation’s Executive Director, Ali Bashamakh.
The two parties discussed the projects and interventions the Foundation is implementing in the agricultural and fishery sectors in several governorates.
The meeting touched on the most prominent activities and projects carried out, particularly the support and capacity-building of fisheries associations, the date-palm cultivation support project—which includes supplying palm seedlings produced through plant-tissue culture techniques—and the establishment of three date-packaging facilities aimed at increasing Yemen’s date production, achieving food security and preserving environmental balance.
Minister al-Soqatri praised the Foundation’s efforts and highlighted the importance of supporting projects and programs that assist fishermen and farmers, affirming the ministry’s continued commitment to providing support and facilitation to all organizations to implement their programs and activities for beneficiaries.
