ADEN – SABA
Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi has affirmed commitment of the council and the government to the principle of national partnership as a fixed option to achieve the goals and aspirations of the Yemeni people led by restoring state institutions, ending the coup of the terrorist Houthi militias against the state.
He confirmed working on realizing foundations of equal citizinship of all Yemeni people.
In a speech he directed to to the Yemeni people at home and abroad, on the eve of the sixty-second anniversary of the glorious 14th of October Revolution, he said the great legacy of October will remain a flowing artery in the consciousness of Yemeni generations, embodying the spirit of struggle for freedom and independence, and affirming Aden's position as the capital of the state and a stronghold of enlightenment and resistance to tyranny.
The 14th of October Revolution was not just a passing event in history, he said, but rather a new birth for our proud people, a cry of glory in the face of oppression and an inspiring culmination of the experiences of sincere struggle against tyranny and colonialism in the north and south of the country.
He stressed the centrality of the southern issue in any comprehensive political solution, stressing that justice, equal citizenship, transparency and clarity are the best way to enhance opportunities for steadfastness, preserve the state's sovereignty and stability, and achieve the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security, peace and development.
The President noted the unique experience of the south after independence in building a modern civil state through an advanced legal and social system and the pioneering steps it represented in empowering women, in addition to launching the first television platform and the first sports club as a voice for knowledge and creative youth participation.
President al-Alimi confirmed continuation of the comprehensive reform program adopted by the government and the central bank that led to a noticeable improvement in the price of the national currency and basic commodities.
These reforms also resulted in regular paying salaries of employees in the civil and military sectors, and scheduling the delayed ones, to include, God willing, the dues of diplomatic missions and students studying abroad.
