Governor of Hadhramaut discusses ways to expand Mukalla Port

Governor of Hadhramaut Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madhi discussed with the Joint Ministerial Committee for Field Landing at the Port of Mukalla the conditions of the port, and the joint plans and efforts aimed at expanding and developing it in a way that increases its capacity and keeps pace with the requirements of economic and service development for the governorate and neighboring regions.

During the meeting, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for Maritime Affairs and Ports Captain Ali al-Subhi, provided a detailed explanation of the results of the committee's landing.

He pointed out that the committee has prepared preliminary studies and plans for the expansion of the port of Mukalla, which come within the context of the strategic directions of the government, the local authority and the Ministry of Transport towards developing and expanding the port to become capable of meeting the needs of the current and future stage and ensuring an increase in export needs and activity.

In turn, the Governor of Hadhramaut stressed the strategic importance of the port of Mukalla as a major economic artery.

He highlighted the need for concerted efforts to overcome difficulties and solve problems that hinder the progress of work in it, in a way that ensures the stability of the flow of goods and facilitates the movement of trade.

The meeting approved continuing joint coordination and taking the necessary practical measures to begin implementing targeted development projects for the port.

In another meeting, the Governor of Hadhramaut discussed with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Legal Affairs Mohammad Bahbari plans to strengthen the legal structure by developing legal cadres, creating an attractive environment for investment and holding training courses targeting legal institutions, bodies and government departments to raise the efficiency of their performance.

Governor bin Madhi praised the development and rehabilitation plans provided by the Ministry of Legal Affairs and its office in the governorate, stressing the local authority's full support for these activities that serve to develop awareness and legal work in Hadhramaut.
