The first Angel Investment Forum in Yemen was held in the temporary capital, Aden, as part of the "Wathba" program funded by the European Union, organized by Deep Root, in cooperation with the Ruwad Foundation, under the slogan "Enhancing the entrepreneurship environment and enabling the growth of start-ups through angel investment."
In his speech via video call, Minister of Industry and Trade Mohammed al-Ashwal stressed the importance of holding the first angel investment forum in Aden, which comes in exceptional circumstances in Yemen, and in light of the measures taken by the government aimed at raising the value of the national currency and improving the economic situation.
He pointed out that the ministry is keen to provide all necessary support, encouragement and facilities to all initiatives that enhance the role of the investment sector in Yemen, and works to encourage and create a spirit of creativity and innovation in creating investment opportunities that aim in their entirety to achieve growth and prosperity.
He explained that the Ministry worked to establish an entrepreneurship care unit, based on interest in the future entrepreneurial role that leading companies can play in supporting and highlighting talents, creativity and innovations that help accelerate the country's economic growth.
He appreciated the role of the European Union in supporting this forum, praising the efforts of those in charge of this forum.
For his part, European Union Ambassador Patrick Simonet stressed, in his speech via video call, the Union's keenness to support more initiatives and projects that enhance the economic situation and contribute to accelerating the comprehensive development process in Yemen, represented by supporting pioneering projects.
He pointed out the importance of partnership with the private sector to achieve the project's goals.
