Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Sultan al-Erada discussed with the United Kingdom Ambassador to Yemen Abda Sharif developments in the political, economic, humanitarian, military and security situations.
The meeting reviewed the current challenges facing the government in light of the ongoing war and its repercussions on citizens' lives, as well as the efforts made by the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to enhance stability and stimulate development, despite the scarcity of capabilities and accumulated difficulties in various fields.
During the meeting, al-Erada appreciated the support provided by the United Kingdom to the government, especially in the economic and humanitarian aspects, calling for doubling this support in a way that enhances the development process and improves the living conditions of citizens.
Al-Erada stressed the importance of the United Kingdom's strategic role in the Yemeni file, by mobilizing the positions of the international community and working to unify them to confront Iranian interference, in addition to its efforts made for peace
He stressed the need for any efforts to achieve comprehensive and just peace to be based on the three basic references agreed upon locally, regionally and internationally, most notably the Gulf Initiative and its executive mechanism, and the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference And relevant UN Security Council resolutions, most notably Resolution 2216.
or her part, the UK Ambassador to Yemen, Abda Sharif, stressed the importance of strengthening strong and unified international support for a single Yemeni government, committed to achieving security and economic stability to serve the Yemeni people.
