Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen Ahmed Ghaleb discussed with the Japanese Ambassador to Yemen Nakashima Yuunichi on Wednesday the developments in the financial and economic situation in Yemen.
The meeting addressed the impact of these developments on living conditions and services across all governorates of the republic, especially following the halt in oil exports due to attacks by the Houthi terrorist militias, which have exacerbated suffering and increased food insecurity rates.
The meeting also reviewed the interventions of the friendly Government of Japan in the humanitarian and developmental fields and prospects for their enhancement.
During the meeting, the Japanese ambassador condemned the Houthi militia's actions in printing and minting illegal counterfeit currency issued by an illegitimate entity, highlighting its negative impacts on the destruction of the monetary system and undermining economic stability.
