Vice Foreign Minister and Chairman of the National Committee for Refugee Affairs Ambassador Mustafa Noman discussed Tuesday with representatives of international organizations supporting the committee the areas of cooperation and coordination in refugee protection and humanitarian assistance.
The meeting, which included the Director of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees office, Mohamed Rafiq, the representative of the International Organization for Migration, Mohannad al-Rubaie and the representative of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights Badr Farooq, addressed the need to enhance the capacities of Yemeni institutions concerned with refugee and displacement issues, as well as field challenges and mechanisms to improve response.
Ambassador Noman emphasized the importance of effective partnership with UN agencies and international organizations to ensure a more efficient and humanitarian response, highlighting the Yemeni government's commitment to protecting the rights of refugees and facilitating the work of international partners.
For their part, the representatives of the organizations expressed their readiness to enhance cooperation with the National Committee and provide technical and logistical support for projects related to refugees and internally displaced persons, ensuring a more coordinated and effective response.
