VIENNA - SABA
Yemen's Ambassador to Vienna Haitham Shujaa al-Din discussed Wednesday with the Director of the Austrian Development Agency, Ambassador Friedrich Stift bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, updates on the situation in Yemen and the region and the provision of humanitarian and developmental support to Yemen in 2025.
Ambassador Shujaa al-Din briefed the Austrian official on the challenges facing the Yemeni government due to the ongoing targeting of oil export ships and platforms by Houthi terrorist militias in the ports of al-Dabba, Al-Nushima and Qana in Hadramout and Shabwa.
He emphasized the importance of pressuring the militias to cease these attacks, which have imposed significant economic burdens on the Yemeni economy, affected the lives of citizens, and exacerbated the humanitarian crisis in Yemen amid a shortage of funding for projects through international organizations.
For his part, the Austrian official reaffirmed his country's commitment to providing all forms of support to achieve stability in Yemen.
