The Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) Ahmed Ghaleb discussed today , Friday, with the Head of the Monetary and Capital Markets Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Jihad al-Wazir the technical assistance provided by the Fund to build capacity in aspects of external reserves and foreign exchange management.
The talks, which comes within the Spring 2025 meetings in Washington touched on the need to build capacity for strengthening supervision and supervision of banks and financial institutions and commitment to the application of anti-money laundering and terrorist financing standards and the need to continue this support during the upcoming period.
The meeting map out the needs of technical assistance in the aspects of governance, internal control, external audit and achieving the independence of the CBY.
