The Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) Ahmed al-Mabaqi discussed today, Tuesday, in Washington, D.C., with the Legal Department team of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) aspects of technical support provided by the IMF to the CBY.
The talks, which were held on the sidelines of the spring meetings, touched on Yemen's needs to modernize legislation and enhance capabilities in the field of combating money laundering and terrorist financing.
The IMF demonstrated its readiness to provide support in this aspect by holding an extensive workshop in which the CBY, the Information Collection Unit and the National Anti-Money Laundering Committee participate.
