Ambassador Abdulwahab Abdullah Ahmed al-Hajri has taken the constitutional oath before Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council as an Extraordinary ambassador to the United States of America.
Following the oath, President al-Alimi met with Ambassador al-Hajri and urged him to fully assume his responsibilities in representing the Republic of Yemen as head of its diplomatic mission in Washington, working to protect its interests and serve its citizens residing in and visiting the United States, thereby reflecting the historic bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
The President praised the reforms seen in Yemeni diplomacy and emphasized the need to enhance its role in garnering international support and maintaining unity alongside the Yemeni people in their aspirations to restore national institutions and end the Houthi militia's coup, which is backed by the Iranian regime.
His Excellency also stressed the important role of the Yemeni diplomatic missions in effectively engaging with current developments and responding to ongoing changes at all levels.
In this context, the President highlighted the importance of creatively promoting the vision of a just state that the Yemeni people aspire to, exposing the Houthi militia's serious violations of human rights as a constant threat to international peace and security, rather than a temporary one.
