The Minister of Water and Environment Eng. Tawfiq al-Sharjabi announced the start of the actions to carry out the Project of Water Desalination in the city of Aden with a capacity of 10 thousand cubic meter a day.
The project is funded by the Saudi Program for Development and Construction Yemen (SPDRY).
He announced about the beginning of the implementation of the first phase of the project in his opening remarks today, Thursday, at seminar themed " Water Desalination in Aden, Coastal Areas to Cope with Drinking Water Crisis".
The Seminar organized by the Netherlands Embassy in the Republic of Yemen via the video conference technology.
The Minister greatly valued the substantial support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Royal Netherlands to water and environment sector in Yemen.
For his part, the Saudi Ambassador Mohammed al-Jaber confirmed the Kingdom's keenness to support the Yemeni government's efforts to mitigate the humanitarian crises.
The Ambassador of the Netherlands Jennette Seppen confirmed the continuation of her country's support for the two sectors of water and environment in Yemen.
