His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) met today, Sunday, with the Chairman of the Central Organization for Controlling and Auditing (COCA) Judge Abu Bakr al-Saqaf.
Judge al-Saqaf delivered the President al-Alimi a number of the reports provided by the COCA after it had reviewed the actions of some institutions and the government's bodies and authorities.
Judge al- Saqaf also briefed al-Alimi on the actions of the COCA's monitoring and auditing actions on the financial, managerial and institutional performance of the state's institutions.
He also cited the challenges that the COCA facing and the required to be taken to enable it to do its controlling and auditing job effectively.
President al-Alimi applauded the COCA's efforts and its active contribution to protect the public funds, control corruption and boost honesty principles.
The President ordered the COCA to quickly act on the PLC's recommendations and get the assessments and reviews of the accounts of all Ministries and institutions completed, report about the parties which may fail to respond to the COCA.
The Chairman of the PLC restated that all cases which are being investigated by the controlling authorities must be referred to the judicial authority to take their legal actions in line with the laws in effect.
President al-Alimi affirmed that the PLC is determined to go on the comprehensive reforms to improve the efficiency of the state institutions, take necessary measures to boost the mechanisms for combating corruption including re-forming the Anti-Corruption National Commission, backing the COCA and Creating the High Committee for Tenders and the High Commission for Monitoring over the government's tenders.
