The Governor of Taiz Governorate Nabil Shamsan met Thursday with leaders of political parties and organizations to discuss developments in various military, security, and developmental fields in the governorate.
Governor Shamsan emphasized the importance of strengthening national integration and alignment with local authorities and the army, focusing efforts on confronting the Houthi militias, which have escalated their attacks and attempts to infiltrate the front lines.
He highlighted the significance of supporting the struggle of the national army, whose members are performing heroic deeds against the ongoing escalation from the Houthi militias, which are trying to infiltrate into locations and target residential areas and public and private facilities, resulting in continued civilian casualties.
Governor Shamsan reviewed the field updates from the fronts that have seen intense confrontations with the militias, in addition to the efforts made by the local authority in implementing vital projects, including the rehabilitation and restoration of roads, improving water and sewage networks, and executing the economic and social development plan.
He pointed out to the ongoing coordination with the government, international organizations, and humanitarian partners to ensure the success of the UN initiative to select Taiz as a model for sustainable development, aiming for a donors' conference specifically for Taiz in the coming months.
The governor underscored the importance of joint efforts in the upcoming phase, especially regarding the implementation of service and development projects that contribute to improving the lives of citizens and alleviating their suffering.
He noted that the governorate is witnessing the implementation of several projects, including road repairs, rehabilitation of internal streets, installation of water meters, and sewage networks after addressing the significant damage to the networks, preparing to supply water to citizens.
He reiterated the call to unify efforts aimed at achieving the aspirations of the people of the governorate in resilience, security, stability, and sustainable development.
For their part, the leaders of the political parties and organizations praised the heroic battles of the army's heroes on the front lines and their success in breaking the militias' attempts to achieve illusory victories by deploying large crowds and equipment and weapons, which have suffered significant losses in recent days.
They affirmed their support for the resilience of the national army and their backing of the local authority's efforts in its developmental programs and plans, as well as the service and development projects being implemented in the governorate to benefit its citizens.
