BAGHDAD - SABA
Yemen's Ambassador to Iraq al-Khadher Marmash met Wednesday with Iraqi Deputy Foreign Minister for Bilateral Relations Mohammed Bahr al-Uloom.
Ambassador Marmash discussed the Yemeni government's efforts to achieve peace and its responsiveness to the initiatives of the UN Secretary-General’s envoy for peace, based on the Gulf Initiative, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and international resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216.
He pointed out to the Houthi militias' stubbornness regarding governmental, regional, and international efforts, including the initiative from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He noted that the militias have escalated their actions, with their latest threat to international navigation.
For his part, the Iraqi Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed Iraq's steadfast position regarding Yemen and the legitimate government, emphasizing Iraq's commitment and strong support for finding a peaceful solution to the Yemeni crisis through dialogue among Yemenis and avoiding the ravages of war and conflict.
