The General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities in Shibam Hadhramaut signed an agreement with international heritage preservation organizations in coordination with the Heritage Foundation in Greece to implement a project for rehabilitating the city of Shibam, with funding from the International Alliance for the Protection of Heritage in Conflict Areas, D’où L’acronyme Aliph).

The Director General of the General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities in Shibam Hassan Aideed said the project is one of the pioneering projects and comprises many aspects areas, including the restoration of 63 buildings of the historic buildings of Shibam, the northern palace, the Civil Status HQ, and the current headquarters of the Shibam Club.
