Presidential Leadership Council reviews economic situations, regional developments

The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) held a meeting today, Saturday, presided over by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, the Chairman of the PLC, with the attendance of the members of the PLC Aidarous al-Zubaidi, Sultan al-Arada, Tariq Saleh, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli and Faraj al-Bahsani.

The session devoted to discuss topical issues relating to the economic hardships and basic services situations, including exchange rate fluctuation, basic commodity prices and the costs of commercial shipping as well as the humanitarian repercussions that have been seriously exacerbated by the Iranian-regime backed Houthis militias' terrorist attacks on oil facilities and international marine shipping lanes.

The meeting also touched upon several topical issues in the national arena, including the situations in the governorate of Hadramout and taken necessary measures about them.

President al-Alimi briefed the PLC's members on the outcomes of his meetings with the key regional and international players and his recent meetings in the temporary capital Aden with government headship, the Crisis Management Committee and High Security Committee, Chamber of Trade that aimed to share plans and policies in order to maintain the national currency value, go on the comprehensive reforms and secure the basic services and commodities.

The PLC reiterated its support for the path of the coordinated economic and services reforms with the regional and international partners. In this context, the PLC highly praised the significant role of the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in supporting the government's efforts to deliver on its obligations, most important of all is the pay of the employees' salaries, securing basic commodity and services.

The PLC touched upon the regional and international developments correlating to the Israeli occupation forces' dangerous escalation in the Palestinian and Lebanese territories and the repercussions of that on the international security and peace.

In this regard, the PLC welcomed the call by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for holding joint Arab-Islamic summit on the 11th of this month to address the Israeli escalation in the Palestinian and Lebanese territories, highly appreciating the Saudi Arabia's initiative to launch an international alliance to support the two-state solution.

The PLC has confirmed Yemen's Iron-clad support for the Palestinian people's right to establish its full sovereign and independent statehood in accordance with the UNSC's resolutions and Arab Peace Initiative.

The PLC also reaffirmed Yemen's stance in support of the Lebanese state, its sovereignty and exclusive right to possess the weapons and the decisions of the peace and war, stressing that the cessation of the Israeli aggression and brutal violations is the key for the desirable peace, and an entry to remove Iran's pretexts and its agents to further complicate the situations.
