His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) received today, Thursday, the Ambassador of the United States to the Republic of Yemen Steven Fagin.

Yemeni-American bilateral relations acnd cooperation was key focus of the talks.

The conversations also touched the developments about the Yemeni situation and the needed support by the international community to mitigate the repercussions of the cessation of oil exports and the rise of the costs of the marine shipping due to the terrorist attacks by the Iranian regime backed Houthi militias.

President al-Alimi briefed the American Ambassador on the developments in the Yemeni national arena and the stances of the Republic of Yemen about the topical issues in the region, particularly the condemnation of the Israeli brutal violations against the Palestinian people and the support for its rights to establish its independent and sovereign statehood in line with the UNSC's resolutions and Arab Initiative for Peace.

The Chairman of the PLC praised the American administration's support for Yemen, deeply appreciating its humanitarian interventions, voicing his for further American efforts to intercept and stop Iranian weapons shipments which destabilize the security of Yemen and the region.
