MAHRAH - SABA
Governor of Al-Mahrah, Mohammed Ali Yasser, has directed relevant authorities to take all precautionary measures and implement immediate interventions in anticipation of the atmospheric depression expected to affect Al-Mahrah in the coming hours.
The directives included guidance to the emergency committee at the governorate center and directorates, as well as security and military agencies, general directors of directorates, and other relevant entities.
This involves preparing hospitals, clearing drainage channels, and warning residents in low-lying areas and riverbeds to evacuate for their safety.
Mobile medical teams are to be prepared during rainfall, and security and military agencies are advised to raise their state of readiness and equip heavy machinery to participate in rescue operations if needed.
Additionally, a ban on sailing has been issued as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of fishermen and other preventive measures.
The local authority in Mahrah has also called on citizens to follow updates and bulletins regarding the weather situation, which indicates disturbances at sea and rising waves around the Socotra Archipelago and the eastern Gulf of Aden.
Rainfall of varying intensity, accompanied by strong winds, is expected over the eastern Gulf of Aden, the coasts and plateaus of Mahrah and Hadhramaut, and parts of the Socotra Archipelago.
