Maj. General al-Zubaidi confers with French Ambassador over joint efforts to make peace

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Maj. General Aidarous al-Zubaidi received today, Monday, the French Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen Katherine Corm Kammoun to discuss bilateral relations and further bolster joint cooperation between the countries.

The conversations covered the latest developments about political and humanitarian situations in Yemen amid the continuation of the Houthi militias escalation and attacks on the international shipping lanes in the Red Sea, Bab el-Mandeb and the Gulf of Aden.

Maj. General al-Zubaidi restated that it is very important to coordinate about the common stances between Yemen and the friendly countries in order to ensure establishing united position and comprehensive strategy to end the conflict, establish peace in our country and the region.

In this context, al-Zubaid has made it clear that it is impossible to reach a sustainable peace in our country amid the escalation of the Houthi militias in the land and the sea. He stated that the Houthi militias is going to keep on their terrorist attacks on the international marine navigation under whatever pretext, as it is a violence- oriented group, never believe in peace.

The talks touched upon the humanitarian interventions by the French government in the government-held governorates. In this regard, al-Zubaid highlighted Yemen's need for further humanitarian support by the French government to alleviate the Yemeni people's suffering due to the war and embargo imposed by the Houthi militias.

The French Ambassador reiterated her country's support for the PLC and the ongoing efforts by friendly countries to protect the international interests in the marine shipping lanes and to support peace efforts.
