Portugal beat Croatia by two goals to one in their opening Group A match in the UEFA Nations League first-tier.
Portugal's goals were scored by Diogo Dalot in the seventh minute, and Cristiano Ronaldo in the 34th minute, who reached the 900th goal in his career with clubs and the national team, while Croatia's only goal, Portugal's Diogo Dalot scored an own goal in the 41st minute.
Portugal finished second after Poland's late 3-2 win over Scotland.
Within the same group, Poland beat Scotland by three goals to two to lead the group with 3 points, ahead of second-placed Portugal, while Scotland and Croatia remained without points.
In another match, a goalless draw imposed itself on the meeting of Serbia and Spain, in the opening round of Group D in the first division of the UEFA Nations League, which also saw Denmark beat Switzerland by two goals without reply.
