Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Lieutenant General Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Prime Minister, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Shaya Zindani received condolences this Friday evening in the temporary capital, Aden, on the passing of the late former President, Field Marshal and veteran leader Abd-Rabu Mansour Hadi, who passed away after a life filled with national, political and military service during pivotal moments in Yemen’s modern history.

President al-Alimi calls for international support for government efforts to address impacts of climate changes

Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi received Sunday the Ambassador of the United States to Yemen Steven Fagin.

The meeting discussed the latest developments in the Yemeni situation and the developments in the region, including the continued Israeli violations against the Palestinian people and their disastrous consequences for international peace and security.
The President emphasized Yemen's firm position in support of the Palestinian people and their right to establish an independent and sovereign state based on the Arab initiative and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.

The President of the Presidential Leadership Council also reiterated the welcome for the joint efforts of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the State of Qatar, and the United States of America to achieve an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and resume negotiations to end the painful humanitarian suffering.

President al-Alimi briefed the US Ambassador on the national economic and humanitarian situation exacerbated by the terrorist Houthi militia's attacks, with Iranian support, on oil facilities and maritime shipping vessels.

The President also touched on the effects of the natural disaster that struck the governorates of Hajjah, Al-Hodeidah, Taiz, and Marib, and the required international interventions to support the government's efforts to assist the affected and repair the destroyed services in the four governorates.

For his part, the US Ambassador expressed his country's readiness for immediate intervention in this regard, in accordance with the assessments of international organizations and humanitarian work partners in Yemen.
