Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, accompanied by Council Members Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi and Sheikh Othman Mujalli arrived Saturday in the city of Al-Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout Governorate, for the second presidential visit to the governorate.
The president and members of the council will inspect latest development in the government faces interconnected financial and development challenges since the terrorist attacks by the Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime on oil facilities, export ports, maritime cargo ships, and international shipping lines.
During the visit, President and the Council members will hold meetings with the local authority leadership, the executive offices, military and security leaders, political and social figures, and media representatives, as well as representatives of civil society organizations, to brief them on the latest developments on the national scene, and the efforts to enhance the role of government institutions in improving the service and living conditions for the people of the governorate, and encouraging national investments.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) and the media, the President expressed his pleasure and of his brothers, the Council members in visiting Hadramout Governorate and meeting with its local and community leaders, and discussing ways to support the efforts of the local authority to fulfill its inevitable obligations towards the citizens in various fields.
The Chairman of the Leadership Council stressed the Council's and the government's awareness of the financial situation in the governorate and the appreciated role of the local authority in alleviating its living, humanitarian, and service burdens, sharing its successes and failures, and not escaping from them.
In this context, the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the humanitarian and development interventions of the countries of the Coalition to Support Legitimacy led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in Hadramout Governorate and their observed impact at all levels.
He also reiterated the Council and the government's commitment to enhancing the role of local authorities in Hadramout and all the liberated governorates, and supporting their efforts to achieve security and stability, and improve services, befitting the role and status of Hadramout and its symbolism as a model for a state of institutions and the rule of law.
