The activities of the First Medical Scientific Conference began at the University of Taiz, with the participation of a constellation of doctors and academics, and the presence of representatives from the local authority, universities, and research centers.
The conference aims to serve the medical field through research, scientific papers, and research.
The two-day conference includes the participation of 500 doctors attending in person, and more than 600 doctors participating virtually. There are 76 research papers and scientific lectures, as well as 63 doctors from various specialties presenting scientific papers, including 11 from outside Yemen. There are also 4 workshops as part of the First Medical Conference.
The Deputy Governor of Taiz, Dr. Abdulqawi al-Mikhlafi, emphasized that the scientific conferences and diverse activities hosted by the governorate reflect the bright face and scientific and educational advancement, despite the circumstances witnessed by the governorate.
He praised the efforts of the university administration in determining the nature of the scientific conferences, the participants, and discussing the medical reality and envisioning the future, which will benefit the specialists in the medical field, in addition to the accompanying events, charitable camps, and scientific exhibitions that reflect the university's interest in implementing its goals in serving the community.
For his part, the President of the University of Taiz, Dr. Mohammed al-Shuaibi, considered that the First Medical Conference will represent a qualitative breakthrough in the field of scientific cooperation between universities through the employment of its outputs to serve the educational and research process, and to enhance the volume of scientific cooperation and exchange of experiences between the colleges and universities, and to come up with recommendations that reflect the importance of medical research.
He emphasized that the conference aims to face the challenges with a great deal of knowledge and objectivity according to a scientific approach that achieves the quality of medical education and improves the scientific outputs of Yemeni universities.
The Dean of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Taiz, Dr. Jamal al-Ameri, pointed out that the conference represents a distinguished opportunity to enhance communication and exchange of ideas and experiences between doctors, researchers, and health care specialists in various fields.
He noted that the College of Medicine in Taiz seeks to improve the academic and research level of its students and members through such scientific events that provide the opportunity to discuss developments and learn about the challenges facing health care in Yemen and how to find appropriate solutions to the health problems of the community.
