Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak today paid a field visit to the 120-megawatt solar power station in the Buraiqa district in the temporary capital, Aden, which is expected to enter service within the next few days, after final checks are completed.
The premier was briefed on the components of the plant, which lies over an area of 1,600,000 sq metres, provided by the United Arab Emirates to support the generating capacity of electricity.
The officials in charge of the plant confirmed that it had completed 100 percent completion, initiated final checks, and began trial operations before entering service and discharging. Its energy production capacity will reach 120 megawatts in the coming days.
