NEW YORK-SABA
The Yemeni Government has insisted that restoring the state's institutions is an utmost priority and ultimate goal of any endeavors to reach a political settlement without discrimination or exclusion and ensure a brighter future for all Yemenis.
In the Republic of Yemen statement at the International Security Council's Open Session about the situation in the Middle East (Yemen), held today, Monday, the government made it clear that it has been open to all proposals and welcomed all good offices aimed to achieve the comprehensive and permanent peace that is based on the terms of the peace references agreed upon nationally, regionally and internationally, including the GCC's Initiative and its operational mechanism, outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and the UNSCRs in relevance, first of all the resolution 2216 that constitutes a road map to handle the Yemeni crisis.
Yemen's Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Abdullah al-Sa'di renewed the government's full support for regional, international efforts and the good offices of the UN's special envoy to Yemen to bring the conflict to its end and establish peace.
The statement reads " The fair and permanent peace has always been the key objective of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government as peace building in Yemen is an imperative necessity, a national Yemeni interest and a regional and international interest on the path to restore the state's institutions which is the guarantor of the freedoms, justice and equal citizenship that will make Yemen and its people more secure and stable".
The government put blame on the terrorist Houthi militias for blocking the peace efforts, further worsening the Yemeni peoples' suffering, going on human rights violations and atrocities against the fellow citizens in the militias-controlled regions.
