His Excellency (HE) President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) convened a meeting today, Sunday, with Prime Minister Dr. Ahmed bin Mubarak, Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) Ahmed Ghalib, Ministers of Finance Salib bin Braik and Trade and Industry Ahmed al-Ashawal.
The Prime Minister provided a report about the economic situation and basic commodities supplies during the holy month of Ramadan in light of the repercussions of the Houthis' terrorist attacks on oil facilities and international maritime shipping lanes.
The President applauded the government's efforts and the CBY's measures and the Ministries of Finance and Trade and Industry that helped to maintain the financial and monetary stability and commodity supplies as well as to ensure to fulfill the government's obligations including to pay salaries of the employees and provide necessary foreign currency to import basic commodity.
The Chairman of the PLC stressed the importance of doubling down efforts to enhance the means of social protection for the vulnerable social groups and to alleviate the humanitarian suffering exacerbated by the Houthis terrorist practices backed by the Iranian regime.
